Tindal Street Press is very pleased to report that Gaynor Arnold has been long-listed for Le Prince Maurice Prize 2010, for her novel, Girl in a Blue Dress.

The nomination follows almost a year and a half of glowing reviews for Girl in a Blue Dress since its publication in September 2008, with the Times describing it as being ‘beautifully written, entirely satisfying’ and the Telegraph terming it a ‘fine work of imagination and compassion.’ It also comes on the back of numerous prize-listings for the novel, including Man Booker and Orange long-listings, and a shortlisting for the 2009 McKitterick Prize.

Le Prince Maurice Prize aims to reward love stories of the highest literary quality, which ‘engage the heart as well as the head’. It is awarded, in alternate years, to books written in French and books written in English, to honour the dual Franco-British cultural history of Mauritius.

We are delighted for Gaynor, and look forward to the announcement of the shortlist in March. The eventual winner will be revealed on the 5th June 2010, at an awards ceremony held at the famous Le Prince Maurice hotel in Mauritius.
