Creative Writing Course Leader

5 months temporary contract with the potential to be permanent
2 days a week, pro rata £30K p.a.

Tindal Street Press, Birmingham’s independent fiction publishers best known for discovering and nurturing prize-winning debut novelists (Catherine O’Flynn, Clare Morrall, Gaynor Arnold), is launching an ongoing programme of Creative Writing Masterclasses for beginner and academy level students.

We want someone to work for two months before and during the three-month course, which starts in January 2012. You will plan the course in consultation with us and work with us to promote and market it. You will deliver lessons two evenings per week, organise author and publisher appearances, and present feedback on students’ work.

You will be energised by the prospect of designing and delivering a unique programme to develop writers outside of London. The course will take place in the centre of Birmingham.
Your colleagues will be the Tindal Street Press team, and the eventual aim will be to deliver the courses across a full year.

We are looking for someone with a track record of published fiction and experience in teaching creative writing to adults for an immediate start, in November 2011.

Please apply to Alan Mahar, Publishing Director, by emailing a covering letter and CV to [email protected]
