Bromley Central Library is marking LGBT History Month in February with a special author event: Fiona Shaw will visit the library to discuss her “elegant, subtle and haunting” novel, Tell it to the Bees, which tells the story of Lydia, a young mother who is distraught by the break-up of her marriage. When Lydia falls in love and embarks upon a relationship with Jean, the local female GP, the town is scandalised and the safety of Lydia’s son comes under threat.

Fiona will be talking to LGBT reading group “Wilde About Books” about her novel, and answering their questions. “Wilde About Books” have opened the event to the public, and reading group co-ordinator Alex Marin says: “We would be delighted for any reader who is interested in hearing Fiona speak about her novel to come along for the evening and take part.”
