The author of Heartland and The Afterglow, Anthony Cartwright, will be appearing at this year’s Latitude Festival.

Anthony will be speaking about his writing with Luke Brown, Editor at Tindal Street Press, at the Literary Arena on Saturday 17 July at 10.45pm.

Heartland has attracted enthusiastic praise over the past year, being chosen by David Peace as one of the best books of 2009 – ‘What a book! This is what fiction should be’ – with Esquire calling it: ‘the World Cup novel for the summer’. The Afterglow won a Betty Trask Award in 2004.

Other guests at the Literary Arena include Hanif Kureishi, Bret Easton Ellis and Adam Foulds.

Information on Anthony’s appearance and the Latitude Festival in general – including directions and accommodation – can be found on the festival’s website.
